Derrick T. Simmons, is a native son of Greenville, Mississippi. He was born in Greenville on December 12, 1976. He was admitted to the Mississippi Bar in 2006. In 1995, he graduated first in his class at T.L. Weston High School. He is a 2000 graduate of Jackson State University with a Bachelor in Business Administration in Accounting; and, a 2002 graduate of Howard University’s College of Business where he received a Masters in Business Administration concentrating in Finance where he finished first in his MBA class.  He received his Juris Doctorate from Howard University School of Law in 2005.

He is a member of the Mississippi Bar Association; Magnolia Bar Association; American Bar Association; Association of Trial Lawyers of America; and Mississippi Trial Lawyers Association. He is a member of the Greater Springfield Missionary Baptist Church where Mark Buckner is the Pastor.
